EMPOWERING GIRLS: COMBATING CHILD LABOUR IN THE CENTRAL REGION GHANA

  The survey results show that 21.8 percent of children aged 5-17 years engaged in child labour. The proportion of male children in child labour was slightly higher (22.7%) than females (20.8%). The proportion of urban children in child labour was 12.4 percent compared to 30.2 percent of children in rural areas. It's troubling to see that 21.8% of children aged 5-17 in Ghana are involved in child labor. The fact that the proportion is slightly higher for boys (22.7%) compared to girls (20.8%) is noteworthy. Additionally, child labor is more prevalent in rural areas (30.2%) compared to urban areas (12.4%). These findings emphasize the importance of addressing this issue and implementing measures to protect the rights and well-being of these children. Let's continue to raise awareness and work towards creating a safer and brighter future for them.
